Oh How Life Can Change

I now live in Glendale, Arizona. I am getting married on the 28th of April. I am now affiliated with Luke AF base instead of Travis AFB. The house I live in, they had to rename the dog because he and I had the same name.

Last Day of Work

I'm moving out of Provo. On Monday I believe. I don't have a whole lot of time to pack....but I'm used to packing so it doesn't take me long anyway lol. This is weird....I bought my wedding dress already (DI rocks!) but i still don't know when I'm getting married. I'm off to watch Saints and Soldiers -- one of the greatest movies ever -- so talk to you later! :-p

"I don't believe you"

Ummm....so the most blatant thing of "happiness" lately.....I got engaged on Friday. I flew into PHX to go meet my nephew (adorable little 2 week old boy) and surprise my grandma with a visit. My friend *Ryan was scheduled to pick me up from the airport and hang out with me for awhile until my parents and sister got into town. Well...he was in the airport waiting for me just outside of security (which is right outside the gates). We walked out to his truck, he opened my door, I went to put my backpack behind the seat....and there were 3 dozen roses. Driving down the road shortly later, staring into the sun, I went to lower the mirror and down fell a belated valentines day card. Before lunch I was engaged....i decided just to see how long it would take people to notice there was a ring on my finger. Yeah, my aunt was the first one to notice two days later. Saturday night, we were sitting around watching TV and I was holding my nephew. All of a sudden my aunt was just like... wait a minute....ARE YOU ENGAGED!?

sleep--what's that?

What's made me happy lately:
Had lunch at the MOA cafe...compliments of a friend from my stake back in California
Ran into a friend from my summer ward while I was there
My new job
Not being sick for the entire week
New ink and paper for my printer....

Last Days

Today was my last day on my 7:15 to 11:15pm shift! That means I can go to FHE now! yay! I have a new roommate.....which consequently lead to the fact that now both of my roomies talk in their sleep haha. Fun times. As of 8:10 yesterday morning I became an aunt to a little boy named Lucas.

bottled water worth of a thought

I got told by someone that I was "cute", whatever that means.... Another someone, upon me saying that I wasn't good enough for them countered my statement and made me apologize for saying that about myself....why is it that people can say such nice things about me and yet I still think I'm pretty low on just about every scale in existence....

LIFE IS HARD, BUT WITH GOD WE CAN DO HARD THINGS

So, I found out today that I will be flying into Phoenix, AZ in approx. 2 weeks to see my family. It's been about 8 months since I've seen my sister and my parents, 9 since I've seen my grandmother and aunt, and I will have a new nephew to meet (C-section scheduled for this Thursday the 1st). On Saturday night/ Sunday morning I was driving back from Cedar City to Provo...going a little faster than I should be (cough...somewhere above 100mph...cough) because I wanted to get away from where I was and get back home before I had to worry about falling asleep on the road. Well. Not exactly sure what happened but I believe I hit a patch of ice. I fishtailed, over-corrected, spun out, and ended up in the intermedian ditch somewhere around Spanish Fork. Luckily I was alright, and so was the car, and I knew about my emergency fuel shut off switch so I didn't freak out when I realized my car wouldn't restart. However, I thought I didn't have my drivers license with me, so I hurried things up with getting back out of the ditch as quickly as I could before any police showed up. Got the car to work again, got out of the ditch and back on the road, and shortly thereafter saw 3 police cars, lights flashing, heading to the area where I had been. The car full of teenage boys that had stopped to help me matched my speed for the rest of the trip home, onto University Ave. where I finally ditched them because it was starting to get scary. Upon arriving home and beginning to unpack from my little weekend getaway, I found my drivers license had, in fact, been in my bag all along. My nerves however were shot by that point and I continued through the night without sleep. I finally crashed about 6 in the morning, and 2 hours later my roommate was kind enough to wake me up for church, I explained what had happened the previous night and that I'd barely fallen asleep and slept through sacrament meeting. I woke up five minutes before Sunday school was to start so I quickly changed and ran to the last two hours of meetings. I was happy for that event, because it made me realize that this little hint of a death wish that I carry around really isn't necessary...it'll happen soon enough anyway.

Packed for Packer

So, there was one person, and a few spare feet, between myself and President Boyd K. Packer. Completely awesome. One of the messages in his devotional that left an impression on me was how he gave the impression as to state that his generation was more mature at our age, but that our generation is stronger (not necessarily in a physical sense), and that as we in this day are stronger then them in theirs, so will our future posterity be stronger than us.

Dinner and a Movie...How Original

Friday night, E-rock, Princess W, and I played out in the snow until 3AM. Saturday, said E-rock and I went to Movies 8 and watched Deja Vu, then went out to Training Table for a late dinner. The movie was interesting, typical time travel type plot but not quite the typical time travel movie so it wasn't completely dull. I discovered MSN radio this weekend, that was fun. Oh, and hooray for three day weekends. I have a lack of classes on Fridays but I still have work Friday night, so that kind of ruins it; however, this week we got Monday off of both.

Dance Dance Dance

K, so I came to school an hour earlier than I was scheduled to to see if I could add a class. (Dance 180 i.e. beginning social dance). Good news, pretty sure I can add the class no problem; at the moment there are more guys registered than girls so it should be no problem, but she wants to wait until the next class to be sure before she'll actually sign the add card. Now for the bad news: I parked in two hour parking and called my roomie and asked if she'd come to class a little early to move my car so I'd be okay.....called her after my second class....she forgot that the time would've had to be as early as it would. Conversation went as follows:

roomie answers phone: Yes I know I have to move it.

Well it needed to be moved 20 minutes ago.

Okay, I'll come move it.

No....now it's after 4, if I was going to have a ticket, it'd be there by now. They stop metering it after 4.

Oh....

Yeah, talk to you later bye

click

Tons of fun...I won't even be able to find out if there's a ticket there or not for another 7 hours till I get out of class, off work, and walk over there.

Unknown

The thing that made me happy today, testimony meeting gets a big gold *, Apple Beer might make the list, and the fact that I'm alive I guess. Having random blackouts through the day kinda makes you appreciate the days when you don't have them.

Life is Like Room Service

...you never know what you'll find outside the door.

So this blog has lost it's place on the priority list....sorry. Seeing my friend Brian for a week, touring Salt Lake, actually getting to go inside the Temple gates, snow, having my books bought already, and my last day of working more hours than usual....all things that've made me happy these last few days. Having possession of a cell phone for awhile isn't such a bad thing either.

It was somewhat of a life or death situation to let Brian drive himself back to the airport. He'd only had his license for a little under 2 months, and lives in Arizona. The day we headed to the airport it was nearly a whiteout in Salt Lake...his first time driving in the snow and it was that bad = fun times. We'd parked just behind the conference center while we wandered temple square for awhile. When we headed back toward the car we saw this Bronco looking vehicle sliding down the hill we were parked on at a diagonal; toward a parked car. The driver got it to stop but couldn't get out of the slide, any time he went to move the vehicle it'd just go in the same diagonal posture. Brian and I went and pushed the truck away from the parked car and then let him let it slide the rest of the way down the hill until it finally broke out of the slide at the bottom. We then almost got hit by a UTA car as we went to pull off to the side of the road and it'd slid that way. Fun times.
